The FW30, and the 2008 season marked Williams’ 30th year in Formula 1.
The Williams FW30 made its debut at the Australian Grand Prix in 2008, and announced its arrival with a podium for Rosberg and a sixth place for Nakajima.
Three top ten finishes each were to follow before Rosberg achieved a second place in the Singapore Grand Prix in September, the FW30’s best result.
One element of constant development throughout the 2008 season was the FW30’s front wing, which unusually had a pane going the full length of the front wing, and over the protruding nose.
Rosberg’s often strong showings, combined with Nakajima’s measured driving resulted in the Williams achieving 26 points, and 8th in the world Constructors Championship.
